BIOTECHNOLOGY ART PROJECT

Advanced Preparation

You will need to develop a list of art projects based upon the following themes:

1. Basic concepts of biotechnology

2. Genetic engineering

3. Genetic testing

4. Personal choices

Science instructors at your site may help you with theme selections.

Introduction

Students will be assigned to design and construct an art project based upon the themes listed above or a theme of their own choosing. They may work in a two or three dimensional mode.

Student Objectives

* Students will design and construct an art project based on the theme

of biotechnology.

* Students will develop an appreciation of creative design.

* Students will develop an understanding of biotechnology.

Class Time Needed

Five class periods are needed for the students to complete this activity.

Procedure

1. Students select a theme for their project.

2. Students design and construct their art project.

3. Students submit project for evaluation.
