PART II Plot Interpretation (15 points each)
1. Two precautions were taken by the scientists who created the dinosaurs to prevent the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park from being able to exist outside of the park. What were these precautions, and what evidence is there in the story that these precautions were failures?
2. Tyrannosaurus Rex, dilophosaurus, velociraptors, and procompsognathids are
four very dangerous species that were cloned in a laboratory for Jurassic Park. What trait do these four have in common, and what trait does each have that makes it so dangerous?
3. Describe, in simple everyday language, how the dinosaurs were cloned in the laboratory for Jurassic Park.
4. If you look at the list of characters above and determine which of those characters were dead at the end of the book, you will see that there is a pattern or reason for those deaths. What pattern seems to be emerging regarding those deaths, and what message do you think Michael Crichton (the author) is conveying?
