Paper Art Quilt for

Jurassic Park

Introduction

The novel Jurassic Park has many colorful and vivid descriptions which are woven together to create the story's adventure and suspense. A paper art quilt puts together all the perceptions of individual students and their visualization of the chapters of the book. Each student will be assigned two chapters from the novel so that all chapters are covered; pictures will then be placed in chapter order when made into the quilt.

* You will be given a square of white paper to draw a graphic of your particular section of the book.

* Scan the section so that you remember what occurred in that section.

* Remember to draw your graphic large enough so that people will be able to see what you have done.

* Color your graphic with colored pens or colored pencils.

* Glue your square onto a colored piece of construction paper that will give the drawing a quilt piece effect.

Remember each graphic square will include:

* a picture which shows the main idea or main action of the section;

* one or two relevant quotations from that section; (or simply important words) wording needs to be large enough and dark enough to be easily read;

* put your name and the chapters you represented on the back of the construction paper.
