The project is the result of the joint efforts of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District, Monte Vista High School, the LLNL Lasers Program, and the LLNL Science Technology Education Program (STEP). Each member of this collaborative partnership contributed their resoruces and expertise to incorporate cutting edge science into high school science classrooms. In September 1999, the University of California at Merced and the Center for Advanced Research and Technology (CART) joined this collaboration to integrate this technology throughout schools in the San Joaquin Valley.
