This laboratory is used to examine the structure of the crystals after they are harvested.
Scientists examine the crystals for flaws. They then work to eliminate the flaw by
changing the variables as they grow new crystals. This is an example of research
that students can perform in the same manner as Dr. Zaitseva and her colleagues have
done in the LLNL crystal laboratories. |
